Dr. Tina Ptacek

I was born and raised in Arizona and am a proud Sun Devil! I earned my dental degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and completed my pediatric dental residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Holyoke, Massachusetts. In 2012, I returned home to Arizona to begin practicing pediatric dentistry.

My favorite part of being a pediatric dentist is helping each child feel comfortable and successful in the dental office. As a mother of two, I approach every patient as if they were my own.

Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two young children. Im an outdoor enthusiast who loves sports, family adventures, and cheering on both the ASU Sun Devils and the Arizona Cardinals.

Dr. Crystal Bill

The stars aligned when I became a part of the ATMPD family! Our group of Pediatric Dentists and team members we have serving Northern Arizona are truly amazing and I am honored to be a part of it all.

The journey to get here was quite the ride! I was born in Stevens Point, WI and raised in Mankato, MN. I moved to Arizona at the age of 20 and graduated from NAU in 2003 with a degree in Microbiology and minors in Chemistry and Spanish. During college I also lived in Argentina for a semester abroad. Since I’d become accustomed to not having the full-body numbness you experience in Minne-snowda about nine months out of the year, I decided to continue my education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to complete a Degree in Dental Medicine in 2008. Upon graduation I worked as a General Dentist with a wonderful team in Tucson, AZ. It was there that I became interested in dentistry for children. I wanted to be able to provide the highest standard of dental care for kids, so I went on to complete a Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. I guess I just needed a taste of the cold again too.

Having been a Golden Gopher, Running Rebel, and Lumberjack, I vowed to myself that I would return to the high country one day. Although I will always love my Midwestern roots, I am grateful to be able to call Flagstaff home. I really enjoy the beautiful mountains and sunshine of Arizona.

I have worked with so many intelligent and caring people along the way. I have even had the opportunity to own my own practice, which has added to the level of care I can provide for patients. For me it IS all about the journey AND the destination. My husband, two kids and I are very excited to continue growing our roots in the community of Flagstaff. We enjoy the outdoors, fine dining at kid friendly places, all things music and generally keeping our vibrations high!

Dr. Michael Maccaro

I’m Dr. Mike Maccaro, a pediatric dentist who joined Around the Mountain Pediatric Dentistry in 2023. I was born and raised in Ormond Beach, FL, where my father is a general dentist. I attended Florida State University and became a big Seminoles fan. I then went to the University of Florida for dental school and learned to tolerate the Gators.

I moved to Chinle, AZ, to work for the Indian Health Service and serve in public health. I met my wife Tierra in Chinle, and we have two children who keep us on our toes. I practiced on the Navajo reservation for almost 16 years while completing my pediatric dental residency at Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX.

My family now lives in Flagstaff where I enjoy spending time with them, hiking, sports, and all things comedy. I am honored to be part of the Around the Mountain Pediatric Dental team and strive to provide excellent pediatric dental care while building relationships and trust with parents and families. I look forward to meeting you and your child!

Drs. Kirk & Jessica Robertson

How we could have missed Flagstaff as college students, I don’t know! Maybe, it was a lack of funds or busy schedules. What a well-kept secret. Dr. Kirk and I met in high school and came to know Arizona as students at Arizona State University. We loved Tempe and made great friends while Kirk played football at ASU. Although we had a great disappointment when the Sun Devils lost to Ohio State, we realized what a great experience it was for Dr. Kirk to be so close to winning the National Championship along with his fellow teammates.

We received our dental degrees at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) and returned to Southern California to attend the pediatric dental residency program at the University of California, Los Angeles. After enjoying the Northwest, with the pedestrian-friendly walks, urban trails and cooler climate, we soon found Flagstaff. It was our match. We love the outdoors, being so close to lakes, rivers and a community with sustainability in mind.

We love the small town feeling of Flagstaff and are so grateful to raise our two children in such a wonderful community. Because of this, we feel it is important to be a part of and give back to our community. We are actively involved with the Coconino Health Department through Give Kids a Smile and the Flagstaff Medical Center Breastfeeding Center.
